This is the truly unique Spirit Sands. Within minutes you're staring down at an eerie blue-green oasis of spruce trees and a spring-fed pond.

The Spruce Woods Visitor Centre is our premier interpretive centre. Built by the Province of Manitoba and the Friends of Spruce Woods, the Visitor Centre provides numerous opportunities for you to discover the natural, cultural and historical features and outdoor experiences at Spruce Woods Provincial Park.

The park's amphitheatre is where Park Interpreters can provide you with information on the park features and provide hand-on activities that encourage discovery and learning. Be sure to check the Spruce Woods Events Calendar for amphitheatre presentations, campfire talks, group workshops and other interpretive programs.

Next Door

A short  10-minute walk from Forest Hills brings you to Sand Hills Casino in Carberry.  Featuring over 300 VLT slot machines and Live table games with Black Jack and Roulette action. There's also the popular Oasis Bar & Grill featuring buffets and late night menus too. Regular events and Live music are also part of the action at Sand Hills!

Camp Hughes

Visit the historical site of Camp Hughes off Highway #1.  Formerly a First World War military training camp, it is one of the most intact simulated battlefield terrains in Canada.

Local Pool

Carberry has a swimming pool open to the general public. The pool offers swimming lessons during the summer.

Golfing

If golf is your game you'll be happy to know that golfing is available in both Carberry and nearby Glenboro, which is about 10min south of Carberry.

Movie Theatre

The nearby town of Glenboro features the Gaiety Theatre, which is open during the weekends for enjoying the latest and most popular movies and occassional older classics.

Local Events

The annual Carberry Fair is during 1st week of July.  Activities at include harness racing, chuckwagon racing, Fat Stock shows and sales, seed fairs, plowing matches, bingo, dances, carnival midways.

ATV & Snowmobile

There are local areas for quadding during the warmer months and for sledding during the winter months.
